Software Development Engineer

My client, who is based in London, is currently seeking a Software Development Engineer to join their busy R&D team due to growth within the organization. Within this position, you will be involved in the design and development of undersea communication systems.

Key Responsibilities for the Software Development Engineer job:

1. Develop and maintain software for bespoke Power Feed Equipment (PFE) used in high-availability systems.
2. Design, implement, and test embedded software solutions in C, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
3. Work on mission-critical software that controls, monitors, and interfaces with hardware using various communication protocols.

Required qualifications for the Software Development Engineer job:

1. Software Degree or equivalent in a relevant subject.
2. Experience in C programming and web development technologies using JavaScript/TypeScript, CSS, HTML.
3. Proficiency in communication protocols (RS232, SPI, CAN Bus, USB, Ethernet).
4. Experience in real-time, mission-critical systems is highly desirable.
