Software Developer - Java

We are a software development team seeking proven contributors and creative team players looking for challenges and impact in an agile, fast-paced and rewarding environment.

Your role and responsibilities

You will be a member of the worldwide WebSphere Application Server development team. You will actively participate in developing cutting-edge technology for the development ecosystem, helping developers around the world to easily and seamlessly develop cloud-native applications on the Open Liberty platform. Your collaboration and presentation skills will be essential in our collaborative efforts with Red Hat and the cloud-native Java communities on open source projects.

Required technical and professional expertise

1. Proven ability to learn new technologies fast
2. Programming languages: Java, scripting languages, and XML
3. Knowledge of cloud-native and enterprise Java technologies such as Java EE, Jakarta EE, and MicroProfile
4. Knowledge of source control systems such as Git and GitHub

Preferred technical and professional experience

1. Knowledge of DevOps processes for agile development
2. Experience with enterprise Java application development and deployments
3. Understanding of Cloud and Cloud Native development
4. Knowledge of microservices
5. Experience as Open Source contributor
6. Experience using and knowledge of APIs of Various IDEs: Eclipse, VS Code, IntelliJ
7. Experienced with Git and GitHub
8. Maven
9. Gradle
10. CI/CD
11. Tekton, Jenkins
12. Knowledge of WebSphere Application Server, Liberty, and Open Liberty
13. Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
