Our client is a FTSE 250 listed business with an impressive pedigree within the financial services industry, operating as an agile, ambitious, and fast-growing independent professional services business of over 300 colleagues across 6 independent business lines.

They are currently looking for a Software Developer to join a growing and ambitious Development team. You will be part of a high-caliber team responsible for the development and maintenance of software applications for various business lines, driving value from these systems. We are looking for someone with a passion for software development from conception to deployment.

This role requires someone who is passionate about creating solutions for the business and seeing end users benefit from the software they create. You should be a keen learner with an interest in advancements in software development and technology.

Responsibilities:

1. Work with Development colleagues and product managers to create secure and well-functioning software solutions.
2. Collaborate with front-end developers to write effective and secure RESTful APIs.
3. Ensure APIs are well-documented and optimized for performance.
4. Develop and manage efficient databases.
5. Run diagnostics and implement resolutions of software faults.
6. Test software to ensure they meet the agreed requirements and are responsive and efficient.
7. Ensure all business-critical services run smoothly and manage escalations to completion.
8. Assist with the maintenance of automated provisioning and testing of environments, and the automated build and deployment of solutions.

You will also contribute to the development of the Development team processes to ensure they are cohesive, efficient, and effective, working as part of a team, using Agile methodologies, and engaging fully in the performance management process.

The Person:

1. Proven experience as a Software Developer and proficiency with the backend language, C#.
2. History of software craftsmanship and appreciation for clean and well-designed codebases.
3. Experience developing desktop and web-based applications with SQL databases.
4. Experience of working in an Agile manner, attending typical ceremonies, adopting the principles and practices, and solving complex problems iteratively with team members.
5. Familiarity with automating environment provisioning, build, deploy, and test pipelines in a continuous delivery approach to ship software and being part of a DevOps culture.
6. Familiar with version control.
7. Ideally, experience of working with Jira and familiarity with common stacks.

The role is based from the London Head Office, offering hybrid working with up to 2 days per week home-based once you are up-to-speed.
