Social Worker & Senior Social Worker, Supporting Disabled Children's Service

Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency, has a new permanent position available for a Social Worker & Senior Social Worker within the Supporting Disabled Children's Service to work Full Time based in Wandsworth.

The salary for this Social Worker & Senior Social Worker job is up to £57,127 per annum.

Responsibilities:

  1. Act as the lead professional in statutory cases that require a qualified social worker, including child protection, care proceedings, and looked after children cases.
  2. Undertake the full range of social work tasks with children in need and their families, including assessment, planning, implementation, and review (APIR).
  3. Bring together and co-ordinate the team around the child to ensure a multi-disciplinary approach to APIR and safeguarding.
  4. Establish and develop collaborative working with allied health and social care practitioners from children's and adults' services.
  5. Develop a good understanding of evidence-based practice and integrate models of best practice into day-to-day service delivery.
  6. Participate positively in professional supervision and annual appraisal (PrP) review, taking personal responsibility for the quality of practice.
  7. Build professional credibility within the multi-professional partnership by achieving practice standards and meeting performance targets consistently, providing accredited practice teaching as required.
  8. Understand and integrate into practice the key policies of the council in relation to social care with children and families, especially multi-disciplinary working, integration, and whole family approaches.
  9. Develop professional expertise in at least one of the key risk factors affecting the welfare of children, such as parental alcohol/substance misuse, parental mental health problems, domestic abuse, learning difficulties, and homelessness.
  10. Develop an excellent knowledge base of and collaborative working with local preventative and targeted family support services, particularly those provided by the voluntary and community sector.
  11. Consider and put forward ideas for improving the efficiency and the effectiveness of council services to children and families.
  12. Contribute to the review of Council policies and procedures, particularly guidance and protocols for social workers.
  13. Other reasonable duties commensurate with the level of the post, including supporting emergency and priority situations, will form part of the role.

Requirements:

  1. A social work qualification or equivalent.
  2. Understanding of relevant legislation.
  3. Registered or eligible for registration.
