Experienced Social Worker - Family and Safeguarding Team

Are you an experienced Social Worker looking for a rewarding and dynamic role within the Family and Safeguarding Team? Swindon Borough Council has three openings for talented individuals to join their Family Safeguarding Service. Located in the vibrant town of Swindon, you will be earning £46.32 per hour with an ongoing contract. This full-time locum position offers the perfect blend of flexibility and a supportive work environment. The role is ideal for those over 50 miles from Swindon, as you will receive a flat rate of £100 per week to assist with accommodation or mileage.

What you will do:

1. Conduct comprehensive assessments, including parenting assessments, promptly to support the development of outcome-focused care plans with children and their families.
2. Manage care proceedings within the court system, covering both private and public cases.
3. Initiate and complete court processes within set timelines, working towards permanency plans for children, including adoption.
4. Analyse and respond to complex risk scenarios, documenting your interventions and providing insight into your work with children and families.
5. Collaborate within a team of five Social Workers and one Manager, ensuring a cohesive and effective pod structure for optimal management and support.
