What you will do:

  1. Conduct detailed and timely social care assessments to understand the needs of children and families, identifying strengths and risks to achieve clear, measurable outcomes.
  2. Foster empowering, professional relationships with children, young people, and families to encourage positive changes.
  3. Produce comprehensive, child-focused reports and care plans for various forums, including court proceedings.
  4. Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to coordinate effective support and resources.
  5. Keep accurate records and manage casework in line with relevant legislation and local policies.
  6. Participate actively in team meetings, supervision sessions, and continuous professional development activities.

Candidate Requirements:

  1. Be a qualified Social Worker with current registration with Social Care Wales or Social Work England.
  2. Show proven experience in conducting social care assessments with children and family services.
  3. Have a strong understanding of safeguarding procedures and child protection legislation.
  4. Demonstrate the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  5. Possess excellent communication and report-writing skills.
  6. Commit to promoting anti-discriminatory practice and ensuring client confidentiality.
  7. Be willing to travel within the Carmarthenshire area as needed.
