Job Title: Locum Social Worker - Advanced Specialism: Adults Community Forensic Social Work Team

Location: Leeds, UK

Salary: £35 Hourly

What you will do:

  1. Undertake a range of complex assessments including Community Care and Best Interest Assessments, and develop innovative and cost-effective solutions.
  2. Conduct safeguarding investigations within multi-agency procedures and perform risk assessments to identify needs and options.
  3. Develop and maintain effective relationships with service users, their families, and carers using a person-centred approach to enable informed choices.
  4. Promote independence and early intervention, assisting in conflict resolution when necessary.
  5. Contribute to the enhanced screening of new referrals and existing service users, and participate in court proceedings with appropriate support.
  6. Engage in the development of practice and services, executing specific tasks assigned to other teams as needed.
  7. Undertake the Practice Educator Level 2 role and supervise, support, and guide both qualified and non-qualified staff.
  8. Participate in duties related to the office and Approved Mental Health Practitioner (AMHP) rota where qualified.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience:

  1. Significant experience working in a statutory setting with the ability to plan, manage, prioritise, and evaluate work with service users.
  2. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a knack for overcoming resistance and exercising assertiveness where necessary.
  3. Ability to negotiate, challenge, manage conflict and solve problems creatively to drive positive change.
  4. Experience maintaining accurate service user records and assessments while adhering to policy and procedure.
  5. Proven capability in chairing multi-agency meetings and representing the authority in a professional manner.
  6. A professional qualification in social work (such as BSc, BA, MA, DipSW, CQSW, or equivalent) and registration with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) are required.
