Job description

Job Description

Based at Bruce House, Wellgate, Arbroath.

This is an exciting opportunity to join Angus Health and Social Care Partnerships Adults with Physical Disabilities Service.

You will be part of a team of social workers and care co-ordinators. Your duties will include providing a comprehensive person-centred assessment to people with physical disabilities, developing packages of care to help meet their identified outcomes and promote their independence, in order to enable them to achieve their full potential.

The ability to promote and encourage a collaborative working approach is essential. At times our Social Workers will be required to support people within a legal framework; this includes working with the Adults with Incapacity (Scotland) Act 2000, Mental Health (Care and Treatment) (Scotland) Act 2003, and the Adult Support and Protection (Scotland) Act 2007. This statutory work allows Social Workers to work in more depth with supported people, build meaningful relationships, and support them to make safer choices with positive results.

This is a challenging, exciting, and rewarding role which offers the right candidates the opportunity to work within a supportive team environment, on the front line of social work, achieving the best outcomes we can for people with physical disabilities within our community.

Internal and external applications on a secondment basis for the temporary post will be considered. You must have the approval of your line manager / organisation.
