Job description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Birmingham to assist with the appointment of a Social Work Assistant, on a 2-month contract, likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £13.70 - £17.24 per Hour

Summary:

Birmingham Childrens Trust is dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the most vulnerable children and young people in the city. As a Social Work Assistant, you will support social workers in delivering high-quality services that positively impact children, young people, and families. This role involves direct engagement, casework responsibilities, and collaboration with multi-agency partners.

Responsibilities:

• Manage an allocated worker case load as assigned by the Team Manager/Social Worker.
• Collect, accurately record, and critically analyze relevant information using management information systems.
• Ensure the well-being and safety of children and young people through statutory-compliant assessments.
• Provide practical day-to-day support to children and their families as directed.
• Collaborate with other professionals and agencies to deliver comprehensive and effective services.
• Maintain accurate case records and reports in compliance with statutory and organizational requirements.

Qualifications:

• Relevant qualification in social work, social care, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of child protection laws, policies, and best practices.

Experience:

• Experience in social work support, casework, or child welfare services.
• Ability to work effectively in multi-agency environments.
• Proficiency in case recording and report writing.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
