Are you a creative, results-driven social media enthusiast with a passion for football? West Ham United is seeking a dynamic individual to join our content team as a Social Media Producer. As part of one of the most ambitious and high-energy Premier League clubs, you’ll play a key role in driving the club’s digital presence and engaging with fans across multiple platforms.

About The Role

As a Social Media Producer, you’ll collaborate closely with the content team to ideate, create, publish, and analyze content that aligns with the Club’s brand values and social strategy. Your focus will primarily be on our men’s first-team, including matchday content, and you will report directly to the Senior Social Media Producer.

You’ll be passionate about football and possess the skills to communicate effectively with fans, building engagement while maintaining the West Ham United brand voice. Your expertise in social media trends and platform-specific content will be key in delivering standout content.

Key Responsibilities

1. Manage and create engaging posts across key social media channels (Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, and Facebook) with a focus on Instagram and TikTok.
2. Develop and deliver social media content for the men’s first-team, especially on matchdays.
3. Create fresh, social-first content aligned with the Club’s strategy and brand identity.
4. Assist the Social Media Manager in planning and executing content schedules across all club platforms.
5. Contribute innovative ideas for new content formats, series, and features, both image- and video-led.
6. Collaborate with departments like Partnerships, Marketing, Communications, and the Foundation to ensure alignment with the Club’s broader content strategy.
7. Stay on top of industry and football news, seizing opportunities to drive fan engagement through trending topics and sentiment.
8. Spot and capitalize on emerging social media trends to boost engagement.
9. Support the content team during player appearance shoots.

Requirements

What We’re Looking For:

1. Passion for Football: A deep love for the game and an understanding of the football landscape, particularly the Premier League.
2. Creativity: You think beyond the football field to produce innovative, eye-catching content.
3. Social Media Expertise: Proficient in managing and creating content for Instagram, TikTok, and other major platforms, with a keen sense of what works on each.
4. Engagement-Driven: You know how to connect with fans in a way that builds loyalty and excitement for the Club.
5. Detail-Oriented: You take pride in producing high-quality work and pay attention to every detail.

Skills & Experience

Essential Requirements:

1. At least 2 years of experience in a similar role, ideally with an agency or sports/entertainment brand.
2. Strong understanding of social media platforms, especially Instagram & TikTok, and their content creation tools.
3. Proven ability to create content that drives engagement, including experience with Reels and TikTok.
4. Experience working within the football calendar, including availability for matchday content.
5. Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal.
6. Ability to meet deadlines and manage time efficiently.
7. Passion for consuming social media content and staying on top of trends.

Desirable

1. Experience with Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Premiere Pro, etc.).
2. A deep understanding of social media analytics and reporting.
3. Previous work with football brands or clubs.
4. A degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
