Title – Social Media & Marketing Executive (Fixed Term Contract – 10 months Maternity Cover)

Location – Kingston Upon Thames

Role – Hybrid (3 days in office per week)

Start Date – December 2024

Are you passionate about travel, adventure and love social media and marketing? We're seeking a proactive, creative and analytical Social Media & Marketing Executive to join our marketing team at TruTravels in our Kingston Upon Thames office. The ideal candidate will play a key role in building and enhancing our social media presence across multiple platforms, engaging with our community and contributing to our broader marketing strategy. This role is perfect for someone with a strong grasp of social media management, content creation and digital marketing strategy, ideally with a passion for travel and brand storytelling.

What you’ll do

Responsibilities:

  1. Social Media Management
  2. Content Creation: Develop, design, and manage content across all digital channels, including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn and YouTube. Adapt content to suit platform-specific nuances and audience preferences.
  3. Platform Posting: Maintain a consistent posting schedule across platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and TikTok.
  4. Engagement & Community Management: Actively engage with followers, respond to DMs, moderate discussions in our Facebook Community Group and engage with other brands and influencers via comments and Stories.
  5. User-Generated Content (UGC): Create several UGC-style videos per week to foster authentic brand engagement.
  6. Strategic Content Development
  7. Content Planning: Collaborate closely with the marketing team to develop and implement creative, engaging social media content strategies that align with broader marketing goals.
  8. Creative Campaigns: Develop campaign ideas, contribute to content calendars and adapt content to reflect current trends and seasonal events.
  9. SEO & Blog Writing: Work with the team to create blog posts that drive SEO, build brand presence and resonate with our audience.
  10. Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with teams in product, sales, customer experience and impact initiatives to align content and support launches, ad campaigns and community impact projects.
  11. Analytics & Reporting
  12. Performance Tracking: Monitor, track, analyse and report on performance across social channels using tools like Google Analytics and Facebook Insights. Use insights to optimize strategies and content.
  13. Continuous Improvement & Trend Analysis
  14. Trends & Insights: Stay informed on the latest social media trends, tools and best practices and apply these insights to enhance our social media presence.
  15. Brand Growth Initiatives: Set targets for increasing brand awareness and customer engagement, proposing fresh ideas to grow our reach and deepen engagement.

Requirements:

  1. Experience: 1-2 years in social media management, digital marketing, or a similar role with a proven ability to increase engagement and brand visibility.
  2. Social Media Expertise: Strong understanding of major social media platforms, algorithms and content optimisation strategies.
  3. Organisational Skills: Highly organised, efficient and capable of managing a content schedule and multiple projects simultaneously.
  4. Data-Driven: Confident in interpreting analytics and presenting data to senior management to guide decision-making.
  5. Content Creation Skills: Proficiency in graphic design, video editing and creating digital assets is an advantage.
  6. SEO & Blog Writing: Working knowledge of SEO principles and blog writing to support content visibility and engagement.
  7. Flexibility & Initiative: Ability to adapt to changing priorities, take initiative and independently seek out creative ways to enhance the brand’s social media presence.
  8. Experience with paid ad campaigns is preferable but not required.
