Are you brimming with exciting ideas to drive online engagement and sales? And would you enjoy working with a range of collaborators, including partners and licensees, finding innovative opportunities to help them reach their commercial goals whilst making our brands and books completely irresistible to families?
We have an exciting opportunity for a Social Media Manager to join the Penguin Random House Children's team on a fixed-term contract basis, for 12 months.
About Penguin Random House Children's (PRHC)
We are the market-leader in picture books and the publishers of The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Bluey, Peppa Pig, The Jolly Postman, The Dinosaur that Pooped, Ten Minutes to Bed, Greg the Sausage Roll, and many other magical and beloved stories for the smallest readers. We are also unique as a publishing house to be the global brand owners for some of the world's largest literary brands, including Peter Rabbit, The Snowman and Spot.
The role
We're searching for a creative, organised and collaborative Social Media Manager to join the PRHC Marketing team. This role will be responsible for digital content creation and community management for three of our biggest preschool brands: Peter Rabbit, The Snowman and Spot. Your primary focus will be Peter Rabbit, with a particular emphasis on Instagram and newsletter growth. Reporting into the Head of Marketing, you'll translate our overarching brand strategies into a digital content plan for each brand, driving interaction with - and sales of - our brand, books, consumer products and experiences.
Key responsibilities:
You'll also be involved in team administrative tasks and will sometimes deputise for the Head of Marketing and Senior Brand Marketing Manager where appropriate.
What you'll bring
At Penguin Random House, we make books for everyone, because a book can change anyone. Our creativity is inspired by many perspectives, so we want to work with a wide range of talent as we find new ways to tell our stories. You don't need to have worked for a publisher to be considered for this role!
Of course, we'll need you to have proven experience of running and growing brand social media accounts and newsletters. The below is our other minimum criteria:
About Penguin
We're the UK's largest publisher; made up of some 2,000 people and publishing over 1,500 books each year. Our doors are open to all kinds of talent. In a constantly evolving industry, we work hard to stretch the definition of the word publisher. Here, you'll work with a breadth of talent who all play their part to make each of our books a success. Together, we make books for everyone because a book can change anyone.
Hybrid working
While our offices are places for you to connect, collaborate and celebrate with colleagues, having flexibility about where you work is just as important for doing your best work and for your wellbeing. So, we don't have a one-size-fits-all approach when it comes to how we work across Penguin Random House UK.
For this role, there are regular meetings and activities that you will need to attend in person mainly at our offices in London. We will expect you to attend the London office three days a week.
Application instructions
If you'd like to apply, please submit your CV and a Cover Letter by 11:59pm on Friday 29th November. In your Cover Letter, please tell us about a social media account for a children's brand that you have been particularly impressed with. Please identify at least one recurring content strand on that account that you think is particularly effective, and tell us why.
First round interviews are planned for early-mid December, online.
Salary
Up to £36,000 dependent on how your skills and experience align to the role, plus bonus and benefits.
