About the role

Outlier Ventures is searching for an experienced Social Media Manager to join our team. As a Web3 and social media native, you will play a pivotal role in pioneering Outlier Ventures' social media presence and community management, delivering a compelling, on-going narrative and point of view, tailored to a technology and Web3-focused audience.

Your responsibilities will include owning the social media strategy and calendar, publishing cross-channel content on time, briefing the marketing team on content requirements and data-led reporting of effectiveness and learnings - all to help grow the Outlier brand and further establish our authority in the space. Proficiency in content scheduling, vendor management, content production, coordinating across departments and data evaluation is essential.

Your role within Outlier Ventures will be instrumental in fostering our brand growth by strategically planning for and reacting to business and market developments to enhance our brand visibility, networking with potential partners and founders, and engaging with a global community interested in Web3 and emerging technologies. Proactive collaboration with cross-functional teams including the portfolio, marketing, accelerator stakeholders and other service lines are integral to this role.

Role Responsibilities

General:

  • You are a self-starter, taking ownership of your vertical and communicate developments with proactive transparency.
  • You'll produce and manage a strategic editorial calendar for Outlier Ventures, balancing a planned and reactive content inventory.
  • Editorial control of our owned channels; X, LinkedIn, Farcaster, Telegram and YouTube as primary channels.
  • Collaborate with the marketing dept to ensure good cadence across production timelines.
  • Collaborate with the comms and campaigns teams to execute multichannel announcements.
  • Collaborate with the wider business to strategise and execute effective content series and promotion.
  • Coordinate with in-house experts, portfolio companies and external guests in pre and post production.
  • Conduct post-campaign evaluations and gather feedback for improvement.
  • Manage Outlier's community engagement across owned channels.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and social media best practices.
  • Manage and navigate business and stakeholder relationships.
  • Build relationships and nurture a network within the Web3 event community.
  • Report into the Head of Marketing and liaising with departments across the business.

Virtual Events:

  • Production experience of live streaming content, podcast recordings and X Spaces.
  • Manage virtual event platforms and technology, ensuring optimal functionality and troubleshooting technical issues as they arise.
  • Monitor live comments and community participation to help drive dialogue and engagement.
  • Create and implement pre-event rehearsal plans.
  • Oversee a solid pre-production process, timelines and deliverables to ensure all deadlines are met, with participants, guests, internal stakeholders and external agencies.

Requirements:

  • Strong expertise in social media management and production.
  • Impeccable English writing skills.
  • Proven experience within Web3 marketing.
  • Solid experience using Google Docs and Notion.
  • Ability to set clear strategic objectives for optimised performance.
  • Excellent time and project management, resourcefulness and initiative.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise with colleagues and stakeholders effectively.
  • Ability to define and report on metrics and KPIs.
  • Attention to detail, self-motivation and proactive approach to your work.
  • Results-oriented team player capable of working in a dynamic environment.
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours as required.
  • Commissioning and briefing experience with a network of suppliers, vendors and freelancers.

Education / Experience:

  • Proven experience in planning and executing social media strategy and campaigns.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects.
  • Proficiency in virtual event platforms. Live broadcast experience is a bonus.
  • Previous involvement in Web3 industry is desirable.
