Role:
Volunteers will support About with Friends members by helping them to enjoy, fully participate in and experience activities in different places whilst keeping them safe. Volunteers assist and encourage members to try new experiences, develop their communication, self-esteem, confidence and encourage friendships within their peer group.
Time commitment:
Dependant on events and schedules – About with Friends offer a full range of social activities on week nights and weekends, as well as a number of holidays throughout the year.
About the charity:
About with Friends is an active and energetic charity that is based in Cromer, North Norfolk. Their main purpose is to offer children, young people and adults with learning disabilities the chance to lead the lives they choose. Members have the opportunity to develop lasting friendships, engage in social activities, get involved in the community, have the chance to try new experiences and to learn new skills for both life and work.
