Commercial Small Works Contracts Manager Role - Torquay and Surrounding Areas - GBP45,000 per annum plus benefits


We are currently in search of a Construction Small Works Contracts Manager to work on behalf of a respectable commercial client within the South-west.


About the Role:

This opportunity is suitable for an experienced and capable Project Manager to join the company's growing business. Your place of work will be at the Torquay offices, but you will be required to attend sites within its operating territory.


The primary role of the Project Manager is to ensure the ongoing projects are run efficiently and profitably. Working within our Insurance Projects Department, the Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing varying sized Commercial, Residential, and Industrial projects of a construction or refurbishment nature on a daily basis.


You will need to ensure contractual conditions are being followed, the most critical being that all work is completed to a high standard in a safe working environment within the programme and to the total satisfaction of the client. Customer and client focus are key to success.


Key Responsibilities and Duties:
  1. Project management of a project from inception to completion
  2. Recruiting new tradesmen to help facilitate your pipeline of projects
  3. Help define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders
  4. Support the development of full-scale project plans and associated communications documents
  5. Ensuring project compliance to CDM Regs
  6. Monitoring performance to meet KPIs
  7. Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis
  8. Complete site surveys & designing plans to meet recommendations
  9. Estimating
  10. Draft and submit budget proposals and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary
  11. Raise & submit change orders for projects to clients
  12. Complete client-facing meetings, presenting performance data

About You:
Qualifications and Skills:
  1. Experience of contract/project management and building/quantity surveying
  2. Possess good leadership ability and work well as part of a team
  3. Self-motivated, proactive with a positive can-do attitude. Highly organised and an excellent communicator. Someone who takes any problems or issues and deals with them promptly and without hesitation
  4. Good understanding of IT systems, online databases, and image management
  5. Full driving license
