  • RCVS accredited practice with state-of-the-art anaesthetic monitoring equipment and in-house diagnostic capabilities including blood analysis, urinalysis, and cytology
  • Healthy work-life balance with a well-managed diary
  • Excellent salary up to £63,000

An incredible opportunity has arisen for an experienced small animal veterinary surgeon to join a well-established, purpose-built practice in the heart of Perthshire. This RCVS-accredited small animal practice is ideally situated in beautiful Perth, a city steeped in history, nestled between two expansive public parks. Beyond the city, the breathtaking Perthshire countryside offers an abundance of outdoor pursuits and scenic beauty to explore.

Joining this practice means becoming part of a friendly, dedicated team of vets, supported by a skilled group of RVNs who ensure the smooth running of the day and uphold an excellent standard of care for all patients. The team is committed to fostering a positive and supportive working environment, where collaboration and clinical excellence thrive.

The practice boasts exceptional facilities, including six consultation rooms, an imaging suite, a dedicated dental suite with dental x-ray, two theatres, an endoscope, multiparameter machines, and state-of-the-art anaesthetic monitoring equipment. In-house diagnostic capabilities include blood analysis, urinalysis, and cytology. Additionally, the practice is equipped with a heated canine hydrotherapy pool and benefits from visiting specialists in orthopaedic and soft tissue surgery.

This is a full-time role with a structured 4.5-day working week, featuring a 5pm finish on three of those days. The on-call rota is 1:5, with a day off following a weeknight on call and a long weekend after an on-call weekend. The practice prioritises a healthy work-life balance, with time back for any rare overtime worked. The diary is well-managed, with 15-minute routine consultations, double appointments allocated for complex cases, book-on-the-day slots reserved for emergencies, and 30 minutes of catch-up time factored in before the end of the day.

As a forward-thinking practice, they value clinical freedom and encourage the development of in-house expertise. The ideal candidate will enjoy being part of a supportive team, building strong relationships with a loyal client base, and delivering high-quality clinical care to their patients. An exceptional new or recent graduate may also be considered for this role.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a veterinary surgeon looking to advance their career in a thriving practice while enjoying all that Perthshire has to offer.
