Huon is seeking a self-motivated Skipper to lead our vessel operations and crew at Hideaway Bay on a 7 on 7 off roster.

The role

As a Skipper, you will be responsible for the operation, upkeep and maintenance of vessels under 24 meters, alongside leading a crew and ensuring compliance with work procedures. Responsibilities include:

  • Operating and maintaining vessels and shipboard equipment.
  • Mooring pens, towing, net installation/removal, and grid maintenance.
  • Managing refuelling operations, loading/unloading vessels, and operating cranes and forklifts.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety procedures and completing necessary documentation.

About you

  • A minimum Master >24m NC and Marine Engine Driver Grade 3 (MED 3) with relevant experience.
  • Leadership skills to manage and motivate crew effectively.
  • Strong time management, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work unsupervised.
  • A proactive focus on improving processes and committing to self-development.
