An established industry player is seeking a skilled Skipper to lead vessel operations in the scenic Shetland Islands. In this pivotal role, you will command and navigate various vessels, ensuring the safety of life and the environment. Your responsibilities will include supervising the crew, managing safety protocols, and handling emergency situations. A Skipper has overall command of the Vessel and is authorised to perform whatever acts are necessary for the safe, efficient and proper operation of the vessel.
The Skipper's primary considerations must be the safety of life; the safety of the vessel and the prevention of pollution and these considerations must override all other obligations including schedule, expense or convenience. In matters of safety, the Skipper has authority to take whatever actions he considers to be in the best interest of his vessel. The Skipper should not hesitate to request Management assistance or support should he consider it necessary.
