Job description

First Military Recruitment is working in partnership with our reputable client who is seeking a Site Supervisor to join their team.

As a Site Supervisor, you will be responsible for the supervision and coordination of sub-contractor works to ensure that the company’s obligations on a project are fulfilled. The successful candidate will have experience of the supervision of the works to which they are assigned, and to be aware of Health and Safety Regulations, legal requirements and statutory compliance issues.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the delivery of a high quality service to customers in relation to M&E planned commercial and minor M&E projects.
  • Supervise the work of external sub-contractors, contractors and directly paid employees in the delivery of planned commercial programmes of work.
  • Supervise various programmes of M&E installations.
  • Supervise various sites including the mobilisation, H&S requirements including welfare and general site documentation.
  • Update my client’s core system and all other associated documents including spreadsheets, forms, MS Project etc.
  • Work with the Contracts Manager to monitor the operational performance of contracts.
  • In conjunction with and as directed by the Contracts Manager, foster client relationships and manage expectations through attendance at site meetings.
  • Carry out periodic performance appraisals for any direct line reporting staff.
  • Any other duties as may reasonably be requested by the Contracts Manager, Operations Manager or Head of Projects.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Relevant technical qualification, such as City & Guilds and/or HNC Mechanical and/or Electrical trade or equivalent.
  • Certificate of Asbestos Awareness Training.
  • Management of staff.
  • Firm understanding of progress reporting against targets.
  • Understanding of service delivery and contract operation in the M&E and building sector.
  • Any qualification or certificate of health and safety training achievement, e.g. Working at Height, Manual Handling, First Aid, etc.
