Job description

Department: Don Valley Construction.

Reporting to: Site Manager.

Salary: £21ph plus overtime and weekends.

Benefits: Contributory pension, 25 days annual leave.

Base: On various sites throughout the UK.

A great opportunity has arrived to join a growing vibrant company as we are looking to appoint a Site Supervisor for our Construction division.

Site Supervisor role & responsibilities:
  • To provide day to day supervision, and leadership to multiple teams, subcontractors.
  • To plan, schedule and coordinate designated works for you and your team working to a programme/plan on daily, weekly activities.
  • Instil and maintain a strong Health and Safety culture within site team.
  • Responsible for maintaining high standards of work for yourself and others.
  • Report daily activities and complete site log.
  • Represent the company at coordination meetings.
  • Maintain plant and equipment records, ensure equipment is maintained and not used incorrectly. Report damages/breakages.
  • Carry out risk assessments.
  • Help with / undertake toolbox talks/safety meetings.
  • Complete / maintain on site safety hazard assessments.
  • Participate in safety / incident investigations.
  • Inspect and measure completed works.
  • Organise equipment and plant for your tasks.
  • Maintain team morale.
  • Delegate responsibilities.
  • Mentor and coach members of the team.
  • Supervise All Sub-contractors and other labour workers. Ensure they are working to provided RAMS, permits etc.
  • Establish resources, manpower, plant equipment.
  • Help resolve design issues, evaluate implement change.
  • Conduct inspections.
  • Accept ownership and responsibility for project completions.
  • Determine the priority works to be done, as per programme, own initiative, and own authority.
  • Determine whether they have the correct number of employees possessing the required skills for the job.
  • Alter schedule and minimise downtime re-assign co-workers.
  • Good timekeeper.
  • Report to payroll.
  • Inspect work environment.
  • Communicate new company procedures and policies and maintain them.
  • Prepare accident reports.
  • Prepare production, Daily and Weekly reports.
  • Perform quality and safety inspections.
  • To maintain a smart appearance and to act in a professional manner at all times when representing Don Valley Engineering Group.
  • Manage/coordinate day to day activities onsite for Don Valley and Subcontractors.
  • Be able to supervise all direct labour as necessary and coordinate the activities of subcontractors.
  • Manage and Coordinate Health and Safety onsite.
  • Monitor build progress, report programme / cost / build deviations.
  • Develop reports, KPI’s.
  • Liaise with clients, manage internal and external relationships.
  • Responsible for maintaining high standards / level of work / Quality of work.
  • Prepare toolbox talks/safety meetings.
  • Complete / maintain onsite safety hazard assessments. POWRA.
  • Undertake/Participate in safety / incident investigations.
  • Inspect and measure completed works.
  • Manage own performance to meet requirements of your role.
  • Promote positive working relationships.
  • You will undertake CDM duties.
  • Flexible in approach to work and adaptable to change, good role model.
  • Good attention to detail and standard of work.
Qualifications/Experience/Skills:
  • Heavy engineering / Material handling experience preferred.
  • Good client-facing and internal communication skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Solid organisational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills.
  • CDM experience required.
  • SSSTS / SMSTS required.
  • Beneficial - Minimum IOSH/NEBOSH or equivalent experience.

Job Type: Full-Time Contract.
