Freelance Site Engineer - Large Commercial Build
Location: Bristol
Start Date: After Easter
Duration: 12 Months Minimum
Rate: £300-£400 per day (DOE)
Project: Multi-million-pound student accommodation refurbishment + steel frame extension

We're working with a leading main contractor to appoint a Freelance Site Engineer for a long-term role on a major commercial build in Bristol.

This is a 12-month+ contract on a high-profile student accommodation refurbishment, which includes a significant steel frame extension and complex structural packages.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Setting out for structural works including steel frame installation
2. QA and as-built records
3. Working closely with PMs, subcontractors & design teams
4. Ensuring health & safety standards are maintained
5. Coordinating with the site team for timely and accurate delivery
6. Supporting project delivery with technical input and problem solving

Requirements:

1. Strong site engineering background in commercial build or refurbishment
2. Experience with steel frame / rc structures essential
3. CSCS card
4. Own equipment (total station/GPS preferable but not essential)
5. Based within commuting distance of Bristol
