About the Role
As the Security Operations Manager at the customer site, the role encompasses a multifaceted approach to ensuring the safety, security and smooth operation of the day-to-day security operation oncampus. With a keen focus on maintaining high standards, the role will exercise oversight and control of the entire security team operation, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
Responsibilities extend beyond traditional measures to also include providing on-site advice on physical security matters and incident management investigations. Rigorous risk assessments and meticulous record-keeping of accidents and incidents are essential components of the role, contributing to the site safety and security protocols.
In addition to safeguarding the physical security of the campus, the role will provide comprehensive support to on-site management, including administrative functions and confidential management. Building and nurturing positive relationships with the client site management team along with close collaboration with the Global Corporate Security team is crucial.
The role will require flexibility to provide comprehensive coverage, ensuring that there is a holistic approach to the security proving thus also ensuring compliance with the Private Security Industry Act 2001, Security Industry Authority (SIA) Approved Contractor Scheme (ACS), attention to detail in managing site files and upholding GDPR regulations, particularly in CCTV operations. The role will also continually demonstrate a commitment to compliance and excellence.
Role Purpose
General
- Exercise oversight and control over the entire security team, ensuring smooth operations and continued high levels of security standards throughout the campus.
- Provide on-site advice regarding physical security matters including incident management investigation.
- Ensure thorough and appropriate risk assessments are conducted and followed by on-site staff.
- Methodically record and upload details of all incidents onto the internal system, maintaining accurate records.
- Uphold stringent levels of confidentiality concerning all data.
- Foster and sustain positive working relationships with all stakeholders.
- Regularly update and manage the shared drive with essential security reports and information.
- Fulfil miscellaneous duties as required by the campus management team, contributing to general service excellence.
- Meticulous management of all electronic and hard data ensuring up to date compliance with security standards
- Strict adherence to GDPR regulations, in particular CCTV operations and access control data.
Specific
- To deliver all service expectations provided by the Client and site FISco GSM, within the prescribed guidelines.
- To develop the Security team performance: engaging training programs in line with SIA ACS requirements. delivered effectively and within the allocated time frames, which develops competence of all officers in every task prescribed.
- To review current working practices, policies and processes and provide best practice updates as applicable to provide service innovation and development.
- To manage the team rota to ensure all required Security tasks are completed correctly, with adequate cover for site requirements is maintained at all times to fulfil the client's contractual obligations without disruption to the operation.
- To innovate the Security Team and provide regular reviews of new security techniques (including the prevention of terrorism), training and equipment which may be relevant to the site and recommended by the SIA and Global Corporate Security.
- To develop the Security team through hands-on management. providing employees with support and guidance to provide professional development and competence.
- To ensure all licensing requirements of Security Officers are up to date and in place
- To ensure that standards of health and safety controls are maintained.
- Maintain daily contact with FISco R&D and Supply GSM's with updates.
- Ensure all required reports are submitted within prescribed time frames.
- Complete payroll weekly/monthly ensuring no errors.
- Deal with all issues efficiently and in a professional manner in accordance with the FISco core values.
- Complete 'Quality Audits' as designated by GSM's.
- Ensure that all Site Documentation is reviewed on a regular daily / weekly / monthly basis and is up to date.
- Manage/ensure all employees and contractors of centre safety induction procedures such as fire / bomb evacuation, crisis plan and out of hours work restrictions.
- Assist in two full practice fire evacuations per annum plus annual training for all staff on the Site Business Continuity Plan.
- Completion of documented employee PDR's and 121 meetings, with appropriate actions and follow ups
- Ensure all security compliance (SOP's) is up to date and complete.
- Assist in Bi-annua: Health & Safety Audits with Reckitt site management to ensure that safe working practices are adhered to at all times.
- Monitor the Permits to Work issued to the contractors on site in line with Site HS department.
Accountabilities

- To have a thorough understanding of the Site Health and Safety Policy, Quality Management Processes and Procedures and to ensure this is adhered to by all tenants and staff on-site at all times.
- To have a thorough understanding of all Security processes, procedures and operational requirements. with continued monitoring and suggestions for improvement of best practice.
- Review of Security SOP & related documentation on monthly basis to complete appropriate updates as required by alterations to site functioning or deadline for process reviews
- Oversee, and assist in the delivery, of the training program of the Security Team, ensuring that all individual training files are kept up to date and complaint ready at all times.
- Ensure that all technical and procedural site training is delivered in line with the agreed site training schedules and time frames.
- Following onsite escalation procedures, update relevant stakeholders of any issues as soon as practical on the day. or in advance if possible.
- To provide appropriate updates to the Client reports on matters requested by the site GSM.
- Ensure that the management, reporting and escalation of all accidents and incidents strictly follow the procedures that have been agreed with the customer.
- Ensure that all client complaints are dealt with in the correct manner & immediately upon receipt of the complaint in strict confidence.
- To ensure that all compliance checks are to be completed as requested by the customer.
- Ensuring all p-file and training files are up to date and correctly completed.
- To manage and ensure update of the training matrix as applicable.
- Ensure the site consistently has a sufficient level of cover to perform all Security roles.
- Act as the initial security point of contact for site management on issues etc.
- To create and present Security related reports for the client, containing the requested information and formats.
- To ensure management and documented reports are compiled and returned.
- Manage and appropriately document all HR-related incidents, with appropriate escalation to site GSM in strict confidence.
- Security payroll budget management
- The role is operational and customer-facing. The FISco SOM must at all times be polite, in control, have an exemplary appearance. have excellent manners and display a level of trust and respect for employees, fellow colleagues, line management and FISco FM Management.
