Site Operations Centre Specialist

Location: RG7 4PR, located between Reading and Basingstoke, with free onsite parking.

Package: Starting from £29,740 (depending on your suitability, qualifications, and level of experience).

Working pattern: AWE operates a 9-day working fortnight. We will consider flexible working requests to fit your work with your lifestyle. Please let us know your preferred working pattern in your application.

Let us introduce the role:

AWE is currently recruiting for a Site Operations Centre Specialist working within the Site Control Function (Estates and Liabilities).

The role involves capturing and processing notifications for proposed work, ensuring compliance with the declared availability of the company's corporate emergency response and support services. This includes collating information on activities that may affect business operations, such as drone activity, restricted airspace, and out-of-hours working notifications.

You will be responsible for gathering information to plan for foreseeable threats from outside the Site that could affect the safe operation of Aldermaston or Burghfield Site, ensuring accuracy and validity of all Out of Hours working notifications prior to their inclusion on Microsoft Dynamics software.

Who are we looking for?

We do need you to have the following:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software packages, including experience with SharePoint.
  • Ability to maintain a calm, rational, and pragmatic overview of any situation.

Whilst not a tick list, we'd like you to have experience in some of the following:

  • Activity planning, risk identification, and consequence mitigation.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • An understanding of site operational control.
  • High personal standards in environment, safety, health, security, and quality.

You should be capable of working calmly and constructively in a changing priority environment and managing your own workload. Initiative, enthusiasm, a flexible approach, and the ability to meet tight deadlines are essential.
