Our client is a successful construction main contractor who works nationally from their multiple offices across the country. They are looking to appoint a freelance Site Manager to manage a fast track project refurbishing a university building in York. Their success has led to a sharp increase in turnover. The company aims to continue its growth over the coming financial year. They have developed an excellent reputation in market sectors including: Office, Hotel, Education, Commercial and Student Accommodation. They are an entirely relationship-driven business and pride themselves on the fact that over 70% of their workload is negotiated with existing clients they have built relationships with.
The Site Manager Role
This role is suitable for a Site Manager or Assistant Site Manager looking to work in a more dynamic environment. The successful candidate will be expected to execute the designated role to the agreed programme, in line with Health, Safety and Environmental standards expected by the client and company.
The position will manage a site in York that starts on the 24th February 2025 and will run for approximately 15 weeks. The project is the fast track refurbishment of a university building.
It is expected that the successful applicant will be capable of running the project on a day-to-day basis with the assistance of a visiting Project Manager. As the Site Manager, you will be responsible for the delivery of the project with both refurbishment and fit-out elements from inception to completion.
Responsibilities include:
The ideal candidate will have previously managed fast track refurbishment sites within the construction and refurbishment sectors. Experience in hotel, office, student accommodation, commercial, and PRS apartment schemes is beneficial.
As the Site Manager, you will be required to be a self-motivated individual who is autonomous in your role while being able to drive subcontractors. Must be IT literate and capable of running the project as the No 1 on site.
It is essential that you hold SMSTS, CSCS Black Card, Asbestos Awareness, and First Aid certificates.
The project will commence on the 24th February 2025.
Remuneration:
Dependent upon experience, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to earn up to £300 per day DOE.
