My client is seeking an experienced Site Manager to be the No.1 on a new build nursery in Buckinghamshire. The project is scheduled to run for 29 weeks, and the successful candidate will be responsible for managing all on-site activities to ensure timely, safe, and high-quality completion of the build.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day site operations, ensuring the project progresses according to schedule and budget.
Supervise and coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and trades on site.
Maintain high standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance.
Liaise with the client, design team, and project manager to ensure effective communication.
Conduct regular site meetings and provide progress reports.
Ensure all work is carried out in line with drawings, specifications, and building regulations.
Oversee quality control and snagging processes.
Maintain accurate site documentation including RAMS, site diaries, and induction records.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Site Manager on similar-sized new build projects, ideally within the education or childcare sector.
SMSTS, CSCS card (Black or White), and First Aid certification (essential).
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical documents.
Good IT skills - ability to use email, MS Office, and project reporting software.
Knowledge of current building regulations and H&S legislation.
Desirable:
Experience delivering nursery, school, or public sector building projects.
NVQ Level 6 or equivalent in Construction Management.
