Site Manager - Basingstoke

About the Role:

• We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee the second phase of a college refurbishment project in Basingstoke. This phase primarily involves facade replacement, including curtain wall removal, asbestos removal, new facade installation, window replacements, wall works, internal finishing, and roofing. While the focus is on externals, there will be some internal elements to manage as well.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead site operations, ensuring the project is delivered on time and within budget.
• Oversee subcontractors and direct labour, ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to health & safety standards.
• Manage external works including facade replacement, curtain walling removal, and roofing works.
• Coordinate asbestos removal in line with compliance and safety regulations.
• Liaise with the Contracts Director, client representatives, and other stakeholders.
• Ensure smooth coordination between external and internal works.

Requirements:

• Proven experience managing projects with external facade works and internal finishing.
• Experience working in live school or college environments is highly desirable.
• Strong background in ground-up projects, with an ability to oversee works from inception to completion.
• Valid SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid certification.
• Experience in asbestos awareness and removal processes is advantageous.
• Ability to read drawings and ensure work is completed to spec.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage subcontractors and site teams effectively.
