Job description

Location: Manchester

Role Overview

We are seeking a proactive Site Manager to oversee the daily operations of a busy waste management and recycling facility.

In this role, you will:

  1. Manage production processes and lead a dedicated team of staff.
  2. Supervise waste operations, including shredding, baling, and jetting.
  3. Support the Operations Manager in achieving operational goals.
  4. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards.
  5. Drive production efficiency and provide detailed reports on plant performance.
Experience & Skills

Proven experience in heavy industry, ideally within waste management (e.g., Hazardous Waste Transfer Station Supervisor, Senior Operative, or Site Chemist).

A valid FLT/Forklift licence is highly desirable.

Strong background in production or process operations, with the ability to motivate and focus a team.

Preferably, experience in recycling, hazardous waste operations, industrial services, or a related field.

Desirable Qualifications (Not Essential)
  1. COTC / WAMITAB / Certificate of Technical Competence
  2. IOSH or NEBOSH certification
  3. Auditing experience
  4. Leadership Training / ILM
