Electrical Site Manager
Location: Derby
Pay: £32 - £35 an hour
Hours: 7 Days/Week, 10 - 12 Hours/Day
Overtime: 1.3 times over 48 hours a week
Start: Immediate
Are you a highly experienced and driven Electrical Site Manager seeking a long-term, leadership role on a prestigious commercial development in Derby?
Our client, a leading main contractor renowned for delivering high-quality commercial projects, requires a dedicated and results-oriented Electrical Site Manager for a significant development in Derby. This is an exceptional opportunity to take ownership of all electrical aspects of a major build and lead a large team to successful completion.

About the Role:

As the Electrical Site Manager, you will be the key point of contact and responsible for the planning, coordination, and supervision of all electrical works on this large-scale commercial project. You will ensure that all installations are carried out safely, to the highest standards, within program timescales, and in accordance with project specifications.

If all goes well with this project there are 2 projects to go onto, both with a 5 year project time.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Oversee and manage all electrical installation activities on site throughout the entire project lifecycle.
  2. Lead, mentor, and direct a team of electrical supervisors, foremen, and electricians.
  3. Ensure strict adherence to health and safety regulations and promote a positive safety culture on site.
  4. Plan and coordinate electrical works with other trades and the main contractor's management team.
  5. Monitor progress against the program and proactively identify and resolve any potential delays or issues.
  6. Ensure all electrical installations are carried out to the required quality standards and in compliance with relevant regulations and specifications.
  7. Conduct regular site inspections and quality control checks.
  8. Manage and track materials, plant, and labour resources effectively.
  9. Liaise with design teams, consultants, and client representatives.
  10. Prepare progress reports and attend site meetings.
  11. Manage and sign off on subcontractor works.
Essential Requirements:
  1. Extensive experience as an Electrical Site Manager on large-scale commercial projects (ideally with projects of similar duration and complexity).
  2. Comprehensive knowledge of current electrical regulations, standards, and best practices.
  3. Proven ability to lead and manage large teams effectively.
  4. Excellent planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  5. Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  6. Valid ECS/JIB Black Card (or equivalent).
  7. SMSTS certification is essential.
  8. First Aid certification.
  9. Ability to work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  10. A proactive and results-oriented approach.
