Vacancy: Site Manager
Unite People are working alongside a specialist construction contractor to hire a Site Manager working on a variety of new build and modular construction schemes throughout the UK.
Initial projects will be based in the North East of the UK; with projects based UK-wide thereafter. Accommodation/ travel allowances would be provided.
You will have the opportunity to work on a multitude of both privately funded and government framework schemes; including health care, education and accommodation sectors.
The successful individual will be self-motivated, forward-thinking, and have experience of successfully leading a team to deliver build and/or refurbishment projects - preferably with experience of steel frame, modular or traditional build projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Management:
- Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of construction projects from start to finish.
- Ensure adherence to project timelines and budgets.
- Manage the relationship with the sub-contractors onsite.
- Drive the project programme.
- Drive the pace of the project, planning work ahead.
- Ensure there is an efficient monitoring and registration process in place for site staff.
Team Leadership:
- Lead and motivate project teams, including site supervisors, subcontractors, and other construction professionals.
- Foster a collaborative and positive working environment.
- Conduct regular team meetings to communicate project goals and expectations.
- Delegate responsibilities to site staff.
Quality Control:
- Maintain high-quality standards throughout all phases of construction.
- Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
Commercial Acumen:
- Monitor and control costs, budgets and commercial expectations onsite.
Required Qualifications & Training:
- CSCS Card
- SMSTS
- First Aid
- Proven experience of managing new build, steel or modular builds.
- Strong people management experience.
- Ability to deal with conflicting priorities and challenging stakeholders and/or sub-contractors.
- Strong people skills.
