Exciting Opportunity to Join a Global Manufacturing Leader as Site Manager in Wigan

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and dynamic individual to join our client, a global Manufacturing leader (c.$1bn Group Revenue) to lead and manage the full end-to-end manufacturing operation for their Site near Wigan.

As the Site Manager for our client's Manufacturing Site near Wigan, you'll be reporting into a Group Operations Director and responsible for leading the full end-to-end operation of a fast-paced Continuous Process 24*5 Site. You'll have 3 direct reports (Engineering Manager, Production Manager & Warehouse Manager) with c.70 indirect reports and an Ops Budget of circa £6m.

Key Responsibilities of Site Manager:

1. Site Strategy & Leadership: As the Site Manager, you'll be responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans that align production processes with business objectives to increase yield, profitability and throughput, identifying & leading Continuous Improvement Activities on-Site to reduce waste & inefficiency.
2. Decrease Downtime: Minimising downtime is key to maintaining efficient factory performance. As the Site Operations Manager, you'll work closely with the maintenance and production teams to identify and eliminate downtime issues. You'll implement preventative maintenance strategies to ensure equipment is always running at optimal capacity.
3. Manufacturing Management & Operational Excellence: Managing day-to-day activities associated with running large-scale Sites comes naturally when one has experience managing staff from different departments effectively. As the Site Manager, you'll lead and manage to ensure that all operations are performed safely, efficiently, and effectively. You'll also be responsible for implementing operational excellence initiatives like LEAN, 5S, SMED, KAIZEN, and SIX SIGMA programs to drive continuous improvement.
4. Health & Safety: As the Site Manager, you'll ensure that all health and safety regulations are adhered to, and you'll implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance.

Qualifications / Skills Required for Site Manager:

1. Qualified by Experience OR HNC / HND / C&G / Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field
2. Previous Site / Manufacturing Operations Management experience within a continuous production / process environment
3. Experience of developing & delivering strategic Site production plan to ensure budgeted production levels are achieved
4. Strong budget & financial management experience (Site budget, targets etc)
5. Knowledgeable of HSE regulations
6. NEBOSH Certificates (or similar)
7. Results-driven, with a focus on continuous improvement & achieving target using 5S / LEAN / Six Sigma / SMED
8. Excellent leadership and management skills, with ability to motivate, lead & inspire
9. Strong communication and interpersonal skills

For the successful Site Manager, a salary of up to £80,000 + Car + Package is on offer.
