Job description

Our construction client requires a Site Manager for a major construction site in Shetland.

Applicants should have at least an HNC/Degree in Civil Engineering and have experience delivering major civil engineering works e.g. Roads, Drainage, Kerbing etc.

Duties:
  • Candidate ideally have worked their way up through their career from on the tools to supervisor/manager.
  • Have a technical qualification like civil engineering or construction project management.
  • Have good commercial knowledge and ability to manage a construction site and how the works make money.
  • Ability to read drawings and operate CAD and check what the site team is doing.
  • NEC contract - fully understand the type of contract, how it works, the different roles and responsibilities, early warnings, compensation events, communication forms, and document control.
  • Good knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environmental management, roles, and responsibilities.
  • Manage the day-to-day safe system of work on the site - toolbox talks, reviewing and approving RAMS from subcontractors, etc.
  • Some experience of project planning and MS Project.
  • Work well as part of a team.
  • Able to cope with working in Shetland.

Work rota: Flexible but at least 2 weeks on, before time off.
