Site Manager - The Company
We're working with a very well-established, medium-sized main contractor with an excellent reputation throughout Somerset. Known for their reliable delivery and long-standing client relationships, the company specialises in a wide range of new build and refurbishment projects, typically up to £6m in value. Their portfolio includes commercial buildings, public sector schemes, and community-focused developments across the region.
Site Manager - The Role
A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Site Manager to join the team and lead high-quality construction schemes in and around the Glastonbury area. The first project will be a new build community facility, with future schemes spanning both refurbishment and new build.
You'll be responsible for day-to-day site activities, managing subcontractors and direct labour, ensuring health & safety compliance, and delivering the project on time and to a high standard. You'll report into a visiting Contracts Manager and work with a dedicated and experienced team.
Site Manager - The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience with a main contractor on similar-sized projects
- SMSTS, First Aid, and CSCS (Black or Gold ideally)
- Strong background in either new build or refurbishment (ideally both)
- Comfortable managing all on-site activity including subcontractors
- A solid understanding of build programmes and quality standards
- Trade background advantageous
- A hands-on, proactive manager who takes ownership and builds strong relationships
