Job description

Our client is a Roofing and Cladding specialist, specializing in roofing, cladding, rainscreen, and envelope solutions, based in South Birmingham. With 30 years of experience in the construction industry, we partner with clients from inception to completion of projects worth up to £4 million. We are looking to appoint a new Site Manager, who has the needed qualifications, experience, and knowledge.

Our offices are based in Wigan, but there is no requirement to attend our offices on a daily basis. We expect managers to attend our offices as/when required, usually 2-3 days per week at minimum.

Our projects are based around the Midlands, mainly within the commercial sector. Current projects include educational buildings, care homes, and residential buildings.

Experience in installing and managing a range of roofing systems such as composite, built-up fully supported, flat roofing systems, and façade systems is required.

Job Description

• Managing various aspects of roofing and cladding façade projects (generally one project at a time), including all types of composite and built-up systems/rain screens up to the value of £2 million.
• Liaising with the design team and discussing issues and amendments to drawings as required.
• Arranging for subcontractors to price works and obtaining suitable RAMS.
• Organizing, supervising, and training subcontractors and employed cladders on site, ensuring on-site labor is making adequate progress and closing out any reported defects noted as/when required.
• Producing programs as required for subcontractors, internal progress monitoring, and client reporting.
• Producing daily and weekly progress, safety, and quality reports for your projects. These must be detailed reports with progress descriptions and comments alongside photographs, with close-out areas listed if required.
• Producing RAMS and issuing them to all those on site, ensuring they are fully understood and adhered to at all times.
• Carrying out toolbox talks.

Requirements

• You must hold a UK driving license.
• Qualifications should include a Black Managers CSCS Card (or at minimum Blue or Gold).
• Other qualifications such as SMSTS, IPAF, First Aid, CPCS Slinger Signaller, PASMA, RAMS training, and Working at Heights are preferable.
