£350.00 - £400.00 per day

Manufacturing / Packaging / FMCG / Blue-chip client

I am recruiting for a world leading packaging manufacturing organisation who require an Interim Site Health & Safety Manager. They operate a world class manufacturing facility, adhering to the highest operating standards. Initially, there is a commitment of 3 months with a likelihood of extension.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Managing Health, Safety and Environment Management systems and activities at all levels of the site to ISO 45001 & 14001 standard frameworks.
2. Arrange H&S training & inductions for all plant employees - toolbox talks etc.
3. Supporting key stakeholders on all HSE responsibilities.
4. Apply relevant technical guidance and control physical, chemical, electrical, mechanical and ergonomic hazards and potential risks.
5. Facilitate a risk assessment programme for continuous review.
6. Maintain database, monitor trends and improvement opportunities.
7. Conduct audits, plan safety tests and ensure response teams are appropriately trained.
8. Ensure site visitors/contractors have the correct H&S plans and risk assessments in place.
9. Present incidents & near misses' data for management meetings and take corrective actions.
10. Chair a programme of H&S committee meetings.

Required Attributes:

1. Proven and substantial background in HSE, within large fast-paced manufacturing organisations (400+ employees).
2. NEBOSH Diploma / ISO 14001 & 45001 standards.
3. Experience of managing external parties and 3rd party contractors.
4. Experience implementing Environment Management Systems.
5. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
