Job description

Role Responsibility

Reporting directly to the Project Manager, the Site Engineer will comply and implement the company's Integrated Management System procedures and guidance and promote its implementation with the Project Team.

On a day-to-day basis, the responsibilities of the Site Engineer will include the following (not exhaustive):

  1. Promoting and leading the site safety culture.
  2. Ensuring all works are carried out in a planned, controlled, and safe manner, in accordance with statutory regulations, current standards, and the Company SHEQ standards.
  3. Reviewing Site Operations with Senior Engineer/Agents to ensure that any works being undertaken outside of the Contract Requirements are raised as EWN/NCE including those verbally instructed by Employer or Others.
  4. Monitoring the delivery of the project and identifying risks and opportunities to optimise project delivery.
  5. Ensuring required Setting Out is undertaken in a timely manner using the latest Design Information to enable operations to progress effectively.
  6. Recording any Near Misses on the Near Miss Cards.
  7. Reviewing Inspection and Test Plans with the Senior Engineer/Agent and ensuring the required inspections and testing are undertaken and documented in the relevant file in accordance with the Project Management Plan.
  8. Reviewing all relevant design information and raising Technical Queries where required.
  9. Ensuring all works are undertaken in accordance with the RAMS and that Hold Points are adhered to and actioned accordingly.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be a Site Engineer who is in receipt of the following:

  1. A working knowledge of NEC contracts and other common forms.
  2. Customer focus and the ability to build relationships.
  3. Excellent managerial and organisational ability.
  4. A good understanding of current methods and up-to-date knowledge of specifications and contract principles.
  5. An ability to plan and organise works safely and efficiently.
