Job description

My client has a fantastic opportunity for a Site Engineer to join their team based at their Yorkshire office working on education and health projects. My client is a Tier 1 main contractor who delivers projects across a range of sectors including health, education, leisure, justice, defence, and commercial.

The successful candidate will have overall responsibility for the technical viability of the project works, participate in the health and safety, quality, environmental, and commercial management of the project.

Key Responsibilities

1. Maintaining excellent and effective working relationships with the customer and their representatives/advisors.
2. Implementing the businesses Constructions Strategy and Policies for Sustainability, Health and Safety, Quality, Environmental, Training and Development etc. and acting as an exemplar of the Company culture and values.
3. Implementing the Companies Business Management System.
4. Being proactive in the identification and resolution of problems.
5. Supporting initiatives to deliver ongoing continuous improvement.
6. Line management responsibilities, including the undertaking of annual appraisal and development for junior members of staff.
7. Ensuring that the project works comply with the requirements of the contract specification and drawings and maintaining appropriate records to confirm such compliance.
8. Any other duties relevant to the role.

Experience and Qualifications

1. Appropriate technical knowledge and main contractor construction experience.
2. Degree (or similar equivalent) in a relevant construction subject (essential).
3. Safety Level 1 course.
4. Appropriate CSCS Card.
5. Comprehensive experience as a Site Engineer working for a main contractor (essential).
6. Experience as a Graduate or Trainee Site Engineer.
7. Good interpersonal and communication skills.
8. Ability to use own initiative.
9. Problem-solving skills.
10. Ability to plan and manage time.
11. Strong attention to detail.
