Freelance Site Engineer (Quality & Subcontractor Management) - Major Highways/Infrastructure
Location: Calvert
Duration: 6 months minimum
Rate: £450 per day (Inside IR35)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Site Engineer with a strong background in quality management and subcontractor coordination on major highways/infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will oversee subcontractors responsible for setting out, ensuring quality compliance and efficient site operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Subcontractor Management: Oversee and coordinate subcontractors responsible for setting out works, ensuring adherence to project specifications.
2. Quality Systems & Compliance: Implement and manage quality control procedures in line with project and industry standards.
3. Site Engineering Support: Provide engineering input to ensure accuracy of setting out, working closely with subcontractors and site teams.
4. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain records, conduct inspections, and ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
5. Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise with project managers, clients, and other site professionals to drive project progress.

Requirements

1. Strong experience in quality management on major highways/infrastructure projects.
2. Background in site engineering with setting out knowledge.
3. Proven experience in subcontractor management.
4. Proficient in relevant quality systems and standards.
5. Understanding of health & safety regulations on large-scale projects.
