Day Rate: £300 Days £350 Nights - PAYE

I am currently recruiting for a Site Engineer in Merseyside, on a 3 Month basis. Please apply if you feel this would be a good role for you.

The M6 between junctions 21a and 26 is a key strategic route carrying around 120,000 vehicles daily between Lancashire, Merseyside, Cheshire, and Greater Manchester. Congestion and unreliable journey times are currently experienced at busy periods and traffic is predicted to grow. The scheme will relieve congestion and smooth the flow of traffic, improving safety and journey times.

The Smart motorway solution is a technology-driven approach to tackling the most congested parts of the motorway network, improving journey reliability by controlling the flow and speed of traffic. They also support the economy by providing much-needed capacity on the busiest motorways, while maintaining safety for road users and those who work on the roads.

The design features of the scheme include:

1. Variable mandatory speed limits
2. Driver information, including lane availability, provided through a mixture of gantries and cantilever signs
3. Queue detection and automatic signalling system, which provides queue protection and congestion management
4. Comprehensive low light pan-tilt-zoom CCTV coverage
5. Refuge areas where drivers can stop in an emergency
6. M6 J21a and J26 is approximately 16.4km of All Lane Running Smart Motorway

The Site Engineer's tasks will include, but are not limited to:

1. Setting out on-site by various methods (GPS / EDM / Total Station, etc…) for all aspects of work whether drainage / earthworks / roadworks / ducting / site clearance / fencing / structures etc…
2. Work as part of a team and assist all team members as & when required. However, be able to undertake site duties individually or seek assistance where necessary
3. Complete a daily diary of works being undertaken on-site with accurate & comprehensive details
4. Complete check sheets for quality standards, in accordance with ITP's
5. Assist or undertake safety inspections & workplace inspections
6. Raise & issue permits as required
7. Undertake CAT & Genny surveys prior to excavation works commencing
8. Attend site meetings in relation to programme / safety / working areas
9. Good communication skills with team / sub-contractors / general public / Client
10. Be able to undertake site survey and produce sketches of survey work / construction sequences

Training / Competency Requirements:

1. CSCS card relevant to appointment
2. SSSTS or SMSTS certification
3. Minimum 5 year's experience in civil engineering industry
4. CAT & Genny trained (optional)
5. 1st Aid (optional)
6. AutoCAD (optional)

Skills / qualifications: CSCS, Safety critical medical, CAT & Genny training

Working days: Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat, Sun

Working hours: 07:00 - 17:00 (10.00 hrs)
