Job description

Fusion People

Role: Site Engineer

Location: Birmingham

Day Rate: £350 - £375 PAYE

Duration: 3 Months

The Site Engineer will report to the respective Section Engineer / manager and be responsible for all aspects of setting out on-site.

Responsibilities:

  1. Setting out on-site by various methods (GPS / EDM / Total Station etc.) for all aspects of work including drainage, earthworks, roadworks, ducting, site clearance, fencing, structures, etc.
  2. Work as part of a team and assist all team members as required, while also being able to undertake site duties individually or seek assistance where necessary.
  3. Complete a daily diary of works being undertaken on-site with accurate and comprehensive details.
  4. Complete check sheets for quality standards, in accordance with ITPs.
  5. Assist or undertake safety inspections and workplace inspections.
  6. Raise and issue permits as required.
  7. Undertake CAT & Genny surveys prior to excavation works commencing.
  8. Attend site meetings regarding programme, safety, and working areas.
  9. Maintain good communication skills with team, sub-contractors, general public, and client.
  10. Undertake site survey and produce sketches of survey work/construction sequences.

Training / Competency Requirements:

  1. CSCS card relevant to appointment
  2. SSSTS or SMSTS certification
  3. Minimum 5 years experience in civil engineering industry
  4. CAT & Genny trained (optional)
  5. 1st Aid (optional)
  6. Safety Critical Medical (optional)
  7. Laptop (optional)
  8. AutoCAD (optional)

Typical Working Hours:

Mon - Fri (07:30 to 18:00hrs)

Sat & Sun (only required to suit road closures or specific works - advance notice will be provided)
