Job description

Site Electrical Engineer

County Durham, United Kingdom

Salary: DOE

Jackson Hogg is delighted to be working with a leading semiconductor manufacturer, working on devices for the defence sector. With a 10-year plan, they are a progressive team with lots of room for growth.

This is a permanent, full-time in-office position.

Site Electrical Engineer Key Responsibilities:

  1. Plan, develop and oversee the commissioning and maintenance of all new and existing electrical installations on site, ranging from 11,000v down to 100v systems.
  2. Perform fault finding, diagnostic and optimisation activities across site electrical and instrumentation systems and equipment.
  3. Ensure costs are minimised without compromising the quality of the service provided and check operational control.
  4. Assist the O&M Group to solve electrical problems, ensuring minimum disruption to the plant.
  5. Produce maintenance schedules and manuals as necessary and approve these and other key technical documents for use within the department.
  6. Assist in the production of electrical system designs for process and utilities systems.
  7. Prepare documentation, write reports and give presentations as necessary.
  8. Provide technical data and documentation required for the preparation of proposals.

Site Electrical Engineer Key Requirements:

  1. Experience working on LV/HV distribution systems within an industrial/facilities environment.
  2. Demonstrable experience of electrical HV switching.
  3. Good knowledge of motors control systems and circuits (DOL, S/D, VSD).
  4. Ability to organise and motivate a team and to delegate work to others.
  5. Ability to work within a multi-trades team.
  6. Degree or HNC in Electrical Engineering.
  7. IEE 16th Edition Wiring Regulations.
  8. Must be a British Citizen and willing to be Security Check (SC) cleared.
