Northern Health is seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Registered Nurses for the Site Director of Nursing / Operations Director for the Kilmore Campus.

About the Role:

The Site Director Operations / DON Kilmore District Hospital (KDH) role is pivotal to daily operations, service delivery, and professional nursing issues at KDH. Reporting to the Divisional Director, Community Hospitals, the role will work collaboratively with the Medical and Nursing Divisional Directors to set the direction and continuously review and improve the operation of the services to maximize the operational management of the site to deliver optimum patient care, within the overall strategic direction of Northern Health. The role will also be responsible for the portfolios of access and quality improvement at KDH.

This position is responsible for:

  • Operational management of KDH
  • Site Management of KDH
  • Professional standards and contemporary workforce models of nursing onsite at KDH
  • Access, demand, and waitlist management of KDH Beds
  • Access and management of maximizing occupancy at KDH
  • Ensure compliance with the Nurse and Midwives (Victorian Public Health sector) Enterprise agreement at KDH and provide leadership with the interpretation and implementation of any new agreements.
  • Ensure compliance with the Safe Patient Care Act 2018 at KDH

This position is ongoing full time 80 hours a fortnight with a monthly Accrued Day Off.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Registered Nurse with minimum 5 years' experience in management as NUM, Team Leader, and/or Director Operations role or equivalent is essential
  • Postgraduate qualification in management, business, public health or working towards the same
  • Working knowledge of access and patient flow in acute and sub-acute medicine
  • Experience and good working knowledge of Residential Aged Care
  • Experience in working across large multi-campus organisations
  • Ability to adopt a strategic approach to managing complex and challenging operational issues
