Site Civil Engineer

Location: Northwich, Cheshire

Are you a Site-based Civil Engineer looking for a new role? A leading engineering company that maintains the largest onshore natural gas storage asset in the UK is looking for an experienced Civil Engineer to oversee civil engineering works, estate maintenance, and land management at their Gas Storage Facility.

This role is crucial to ensuring site safety, operational integrity, and strong stakeholder relationships with landowners and tenant farmers. This is a permanent Site-based role in Northwich, Cheshire.

Key Responsibilities: Site Civil Engineer

1. Ensure all work complies with health, safety, and environmental standards.
2. Oversee civils, grounds maintenance, and contractor activities under CDM regulations.
3. Manage buried services drawings and excavation permitting processes (CAT & Genny).
4. Maintain site infrastructure: buildings, roads, fencing, signage, drainage, and landscaping.
5. Develop project scopes, budgets, and delivery plans for civils and maintenance works.
6. Manage service contracts and contractor performance.
7. Act as the main contact for landowners and tenant farmers, handling issues and claims.
8. Support engineering and maintenance teams on civils-related issues.
9. Manage CAPEX projects from scoping through completion.
10. Oversee welfare facilities and ensure Legionella control compliance.

Key Requirements: Site Civil Engineer

1. Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction, or Land Management.
2. SSSTS or SMSTS qualification.
3. 5+ years experience in a similar setting.
4. Experience with CAT & Genny; EUSR Category 1 (desirable).
5. Strong knowledge of CDM regulations and contractor management.
6. Excellent project planning and stakeholder engagement skills.
