Job description

James Gray Recruitment are actively seeking a Site Agent on behalf of one of our key clients who are an established contractor in the civil engineering sector to work on projects in the East Central Belt.

Our client

  1. Our client is a contractor who has been operating for over 50 years across the UK and Ireland, working across a number of Joint Ventures, Public-Private Partnerships and alternative forms of contract on well-known and celebrated projects;
  2. Well-respected and successful, our client has secured substantial contracts and are looking for talented and ambitious individuals to join their team;

What you'll be doing:
  1. Ensure that contracts are executed in accordance with all applicable legislation, Terms & Conditions of the Contract, H&S Plan, Work Package Plans and Task Briefing Sheets, and Contract Quality / Environmental Plan.
  2. Manage the daily operations on site and ensure project timescales are met within a safe and accurate fashion.
  3. The Site Agent must demonstrate proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, managing subcontractors, and resolving site-specific challenges, such as coordinating outages or mitigating hazards like arc flash risks.
  4. Working knowledge of NEC contracts and programme management to handle variations and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

What you'll need to be successful:
  1. The ideal candidate will be degree-qualified, with at least an HNC in civil engineering.
  2. Previous experience working on Power / Energy / civil engineering projects.
  3. Valid CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card.
  4. Valid SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification desirable.
  5. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential.
