Job description

Teaching careers in HMC independent schools

The Music Department of Queenswood School is looking to appoint an accomplished, well qualified and experienced Singing Teacher to join our team of visiting peripatetic musicians.

Required from September 2025

The Music Department is at the heart of school life and is housed in its own building which includes a small recital hall and some 16 practice rooms. The successful candidate could potentially be offered 6 hours of teaching per week.

The successful candidate will be expected to prepare candidates for in-person music exams, concerts, GCSE coursework and competitions as appropriate and to record pupil progress effectively. The successful candidate needs to be a competent keyboard player and experienced in a wide range of genres, including classical, pop, and music theatre.

This role carries a high level of safeguarding responsibilities. Full safeguarding checks will be carried out on the successful applicant. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the amendments to the Exceptions Order 1975, 2013 and 2020.
