Job Description

At Alpine, we're on a mission to compete for F1 World Championships. We're expanding our talented team and seeking individuals who are driven to contribute to our relentless pursuit of excellence.

Simulation Development Engineer - The Role

We are seeking a talented Simulation Development Engineer to join our team who will, alongside other members of the group, enable us to deliver our ambitious roadmap to lead F1 simulation technology.

Key Responsibilities include:
  1. Collaborate with team members to advance our F1 simulation technology.
  2. Design and develop innovative simulation methodologies that fully exploit our vehicle model to optimize car setup and design.
  3. Tackle a variety of intriguing simulation challenges to enhance race car performance efficiently.
Examples of Previous Projects:
  1. Development of limit search simulations.
  2. Creation of quasi-steady-state and dynamic lap simulations.
  3. Innovative approaches to optimizing power unit energy deployment.
  4. Novel methods to optimize tyre preparation for enhanced qualifying lap performance.
Simulation Development Engineer - The Person

We are looking for individuals with a first-class degree in engineering, mathematics or physics with a strong theoretical mathematical background. An appreciation of race car dynamics but more importantly fundamental training in mathematics and physics would be an advantage. Experience solving both optimal control and more general optimisation problems in scientific computing languages such as MATLAB, Python or C/C++ is desirable.
