Job summary

This post will enable you to be a key player of the Hereford Academy of Simulation Training and Ergonomics (HASTE) which provides a multi-disciplinary training service for clinical professionals within the Trust and higher education providers. The ultimate aim of the Academy is to improve the quality of health care for our population by focusing on continually improving and developing training and education opportunities for all of our staff.

We anticipate high levels of interest for this exciting role. The role allows for creativity and innovation in the simulation arena and the ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate capability in digital, programming and provision of advanced simulation equipment to enable HASTE to achieve its objectives.

The role will consist of multi-professional working across all healthcare professions and is interactive in its approach.

Main duties of the job
  • To maintain the simulation and clinical skills equipment, IT and audio-visual equipment, which includes cleaning and trouble-shooting, in accordance with HASTE standard operating procedures.
  • To assist with delivering simulation sessions and running the technological side of those sessions. To assist to order equipment and consumable supplies as required and ensure all are in good working order at all times, cleaned and stored securely after use, in accordance with HASTE standard operating procedures.
  • To work closely with the HASTE committee, Clinical Education Fellows, Practice Educators, Training Leads and Post-Graduate Medical Centre staff involved in medical and multidisciplinary training to ensure learners are able to access high quality simulation training in line with Health Education England, Universities and other professional bodies' requirements.
  • To provide training and assessing in the set up and use of simulation and clinical skills equipment to lead clinicians and external service users as required.
