Shop Foreman – Swift Sure Milling and Mouldings

Swift Sure Milling and Mouldings is a well-established manufacturer specializing in high-quality custom millwork. Based in Surrey, British Columbia, we serve the luxury residential and commercial markets, providing precision-crafted products to some of the most prestigious projects in the region. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Shop Foreman to lead our production shop and ensure the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
Position Overview
As the Shop Foreman, you will oversee daily operations in our production shop, managing a team of skilled workers and ensuring smooth workflow from start to finish. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires strong technical expertise, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Production Oversight: Manage and coordinate all shop activities to ensure timely and quality production.
- Equipment Management: Operate and maintain machinery, including moulders, CNC machines, multi-rip saws, and clamp racks.
- Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and support a team of 10+ employees, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Scheduling and Workflow: Plan workloads and adapt priorities to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Quality Assurance: Maintain strict quality control standards and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
- Safety and Maintenance: Promote and enforce workplace safety while ensuring equipment is in top working condition.
- Problem Solving: Address and resolve production challenges quickly and effectively.
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience: A minimum of 10 years in the woodworking industry.
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency with moulders, CNC machines, multi-rip saws, and clamp racks.
- Leadership: Proven ability to manage and motivate a team of 10+ people.
- Computer Skills: Strong knowledge of Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Adaptability: Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and excel in a dynamic environment.
- Forklift Skills: Certification or experience operating a forklift.
- Communication: Fluency in English, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Organizational Excellence: Exceptional attention to detail and a results-driven approach.
