Salary: GBP80000 - GBP80000 per annum

Fixed Term - 4 Years
Harwich initially and then wholly in the shipyard for the construction phase
£80,000 per annum
37 hours per week

Trinity House is seeking a Ship Newbuilding Technical Lead to oversee the construction of cutting-edge vessels and support our mission of safeguarding navigation for all at sea.

As Ship Newbuilding Technical Superintendent, you will:

  1. Lead Newbuild Technical: Manage and oversee the technical aspects of vessel design and construction.
  2. Ensure Compliance: Ensure vessels meet Trinity House’s high standards, industry regulations, and classification society requirements.
  3. Collaborate Effectively: Work with shipyards, designers, and contractors to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  4. Problem-Solve: Address technical challenges during construction and testing phases.
  5. Oversee Delivery: Conduct inspections, manage sea trials, and ensure successful handovers.

To excel in this role, you’ll need:

  1. A degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a related discipline.
  2. Demonstrated experience in ship design, newbuild supervision, or technical management.
  3. In-depth knowledge of IMO regulations and maritime standards.
  4. Exceptional leadership and communication skills.
  5. A proactive approach and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
