Shift Operations Technician

Astute's Power Team is partnered with a market-leading company within the Power Generation sector to recruit for a Production/Operations Technician to join their Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) Power Station in Rochester, Kent.

The vital Production/Operations Technician role comes with a basic salary of £42,000 - £46,800 + c.£12,000 shift allowance + c.£2,000 location allowance + overtime + up to 20% bonus + excellent benefits package.

Responsibilities and Duties

Reporting to the Shift Team Leader, you will be responsible for:

1. Overseeing the safe & efficient operation of the plant via the DCS/SCADA system.
2. Overseeing the steam raising process through the central control room.
3. Carrying out first-line maintenance across the whole site.
4. Being involved with operation & project management activities on site.
5. Adhering to HSE / Safety Rules / LOTO / Permit to Work System.
6. Supervising contractors.
7. Implementing the safety rules up to the level of HV Senior Authorised Person / Safety Co-ordinator.

Professional Qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

1. A qualification such as ONC/HND or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline such as Mechanical, Electrical, EC&I, etc.
2. Ideally HV authorised person experience - not a necessity.
3. A formal health and safety qualification such as IOSH will be advantageous.

Personal Skills, Prior Experience and Knowledge

The Production Technician role would suit someone who has:

1. Prior Operations/Maintenance experience within heavy process engineering environments such as Power (CCGT, Energy from Waste, Biomass, Coal, CHP), Refineries, Paper Mills, etc.
2. Experience in first line maintenance across relevant discipline area (Process, Electrical, C&I, Mechanical).
3. Experience of operating within safety, environment and operational policies, standards, frameworks and statutory legislation.

Salary and Benefits of the Production/Operations Technician

A starting basic salary of between £42,000 - £46,800 (depending on experience).

1. C.£12,000 shift allowance.
2. £2,100 south east location allowance.
3. Up to 20% bonus.
4. Overtime.
5. Other excellent benefits.
