Are you an experienced leader seeking a new opportunity in a fast-paced logistics environment? Our client, a global leader in parcel delivery, is looking for a Shift Manager to oversee and lead a team of 7 operatives and a transport clerk at our Plymouth site, located in the stunning Ocean City.

As a Shift Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring smooth, efficient, and timely operations while managing a team dedicated to delivering exceptional service to our customers. With regular Monday to Friday hours and no weekend shifts, this is the ideal role for someone seeking a great work-life balance!

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and manage a team of 7 operatives and a transport clerk, ensuring they meet daily operational targets.
  2. Oversee parcel sorting, dispatch, and delivery operations to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
  3. Monitor performance and resolve any operational challenges or delays to maintain smooth workflows.
  4. Ensure strict compliance with health and safety policies and regulations.
  5. Provide coaching, training, and support to team members, helping them develop and succeed in their roles.
  6. Manage staffing levels, ensuring appropriate resources are available to meet customer demands.
  7. Work closely with other departments to maintain seamless operations across shifts.
  8. Report on team performance and suggest improvements to optimise efficiency.

What We're Looking For:
  1. Proven experience in a leadership role within logistics, distribution, or a similar fast-paced environment.
  2. Strong ability to manage and motivate a small team to achieve high productivity and morale.
  3. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make quick decisions.
  4. Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a busy, time-sensitive environment.
  5. Knowledge of health and safety standards and best practices within logistics.
  6. Flexibility to work Monday to Friday, from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
  7. A customer-centric approach with a focus on meeting operational targets.
